Sony Launches Incubation Program for Soneium Creators

Sony Group has launched a global blockchain incubation program aimed at supporting startups and creators building new entertainment services on its Soneium network. According to an announcement, the initiative is called the Sony Onchain Entertainment Incubation Program.

The program is designed to provide selected participants with technical infrastructure, business development assistance, marketing support, and opportunities to collaborate with companies across Sony Group. It is open to creators worldwide who want to develop entertainment products utilizing blockchain technology, with a particular focus on digital content, fan communities, and new revenue models.

Focus on Commercial Entertainment

Sony is directing the initiative toward projects that can establish services offering practical value to users. The company has not restricted the program to a specific entertainment category, allowing room for various applications built around the Soneium network, including digital content ownership and community participation.

Selected developers will also gain opportunities to connect with potential investors. While fundraising opportunities form part of the program, the announcement did not specify a fixed investment amount or guarantee direct funding for every participant.

Ecosystem Expansion

The latest initiative follows several developments involving the Soneium ecosystem. Soneium recently announced plans for a proposed native token, SONEIUM, intended to connect creators, developers, intellectual property owners, fans, and investors. The network also introduced a Tokenized IP initiative and established partnerships with entertainment firms such as South Korea's DayOneDream.

Sony has previously supported 43 projects through two incubation programs since 2024, including a gaming incubation initiative introduced in June 2025. Soneium itself is an Ethereum layer 2 blockchain developed jointly by Sony Group and Startale Group, with its mainnet having launched in January 2025.
