Corrections Policy
We aim to be fast and right. When we get something wrong, we fix it openly.
Our commitment
Accuracy matters more than speed. Every story is checked against its source before publication, and figures that cannot be found in the source are not published. Even so, mistakes happen — especially with fast-moving market news — and we correct them as soon as we learn about them.
How we correct a story
- Factual errors (a wrong figure, name, date or claim) are fixed in the story itself, and the story's “Updated” time changes.
- Significant errors that change the meaning of a story get a short correction note at the end of the article explaining what was changed.
- Stories that turn out to be wrong at their core (for example, a report later denied by the company involved) are updated with the denial or removed, with a note on the page where possible.
- Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes are made without a note.
