Polygon Labs has added support for the TRON network to its Open Money Stack, allowing businesses to move the world's largest stablecoin, USDT, between TRON and EVM-compatible networks without the need to connect to a wallet provider, bridge, or fiat-ramp operator. According to CoinDesk, the integration targets remittance firms, fintech companies, and payment providers.

The service enables businesses to convert bank transfers, debit card payments, or cash into USDT on the TRON network and subsequently cash out to bank accounts. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal stated that the offering allows companies to access digital-dollar services through a single integration rather than combining banking access and wallets separately.

TRON accounts for a substantial portion of stablecoin activity, circulating more than $94 billion of Tether’s dollar-backed token. Data cited by CoinDesk indicates that about 93% of its $30 trillion stablecoin transfer volume was peer-to-peer in the second quarter, representing the highest share among tracked networks. Polygon unveiled the Open Money Stack in January following moves to acquire Coinme and Sequence, utilizing compliance systems covering 48 U.S. states.

Regulatory Obligations Unchanged

Despite the streamlined infrastructure, the integration does not make TRON a bank nor does it remove the licensing and regulatory obligations of payment firms using the service. TRON founder Justin Sun noted that the connection helps businesses serve users across different payment environments as customers expect assets to arrive regardless of the blockchain used.
