Bubblemaps Accuses Pump.fun Influencer Ethan of $125K Scam

Blockchain analytics firm Bubblemaps has accused cryptocurrency influencer Ethan of allegedly earning approximately $125,000 through 49 token promotions on the Solana-based platform Pump.fun. According to the investigation, wallets connected to the influencer bought tokens before his public recommendations and sold them shortly afterward.

Researchers estimated the total earnings at $125,000, separating the amount into $45,000 in trading profits and $80,000 in promotional rewards. Analytics showed that suspect wallets began selling an average of three minutes after Ethan's first callout. Pump.fun rules prohibit misleading promotions, market manipulation, undisclosed compensation, and coordinated trading through multiple accounts.

Investigation Findings

The inquiry examined trading activity across 49 token recommendations published by Ethan to approximately 88,000 followers. Bubblemaps identified a recurring pattern where specific addresses accumulated tokens prior to public posts and began selling holdings minutes after recommendations went live. The firm cited shortened wallet references including 6yVb4p, CLiXvf, GKMJwv, and 1chdHB in connection with the trading sequences.

However, blockchain records alone do not establish that Ethan controlled every wallet identified in the investigation, and the findings remain allegations based on transaction analysis without independent verification of common control.

Platform Rules and Rewards

Pump.fun operates a Callout Rewards Program allowing eligible users to receive rewards in USDC based on engagement and trading activity. The platform prohibits misleading promotions and coordinated trading to manipulate prices, and its operator can withhold distributions when suspicious behavior is detected.
