Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget announced an update to its Unified Trading Account (UTA) Delta Neutral Mode, extending hedge position determination rules to include rTokens and their underlying stocks. According to Bitget_Announcements, the platform now treats an rToken and its corresponding stock with the same symbol as the same asset when calculating hedge positions.

Under the updated functionality, a user's spot holdings in an rToken—such as rAAPL—and a futures position in the underlying stock can form a hedge position. These holdings will jointly participate in hedge position determination and Auto-Deleveraging ranking protection. The company noted that the feature is not a separate toggle and takes effect automatically once account conditions are met.

Prerequisites and Calculation

To utilize the automatic hedging feature, accounts must have Delta Neutral Mode enabled, and the corresponding rToken must be supported as a margin currency within the Unified Trading Account. Once active, rToken holdings and the corresponding stock futures position are combined into the same asset's holdings and position.

Calculations continue to use the existing hedge position formula, where net futures position divided by total position must be less than or equal to five percent. The formula itself remains unchanged from previous platform rules.

Additional Supported Pairs

Bitget confirmed that other currency pairs sharing the same underlying asset will also be treated as the same currency and included in hedge position calculations. These pairs include BGBTC and BTC, BGSOL and SOL, as well as XAU, XAUT, and PAXG.

Key facts

  • Bitget updated Delta Neutral Mode in its Unified Trading Account to support hedging between rTokens and underlying stocks.
  • rAAPL and AAPL are treated as the same asset for hedge position determination and Auto-Deleveraging protection.
  • The feature takes effect automatically without manual setup, provided Delta Neutral Mode is enabled and the rToken is a supported UTA margin currency.
  • The hedge position formula remains net futures position divided by total position less than or equal to five percent.
  • Additional pairs like BGBTC and BTC, BGSOL and SOL, and XAU, XAUT, and PAXG are also included in the calculation rules.
